In 1952 a worldwide enquiry was instituted that explored every possible timber to find the most suitable material for making the floors of the London Corn Exchange. It had to be of particular hardness and durability because of the heavy use to which it would be put and the damaging effect of the corn kernels ground underfoot. After much deliberation and a series of stringent tests, a decision was reached to make the floors out of Zambezi Teak. It is quite simply the best material in the world to make floors from.
Zambezi Teak Tongue & Groove Flooring
Zambezi Floor's Tongue and Groove strip flooring is machined from the finest solid hardwood in the world for this purpose: Zambezi Teak, aka Rhodesian Teak. Our Zambezi Teak is harvested from carefully controlled and fully sustainable forests near the resort town of Victoria Falls on the Zambezi River .
Zambezi Floor Tongue & Groove comes in two versions:
All Brown:
The classic elegance of the All Brown Zambezi Teak Tongue & Groove Strip Flooring will give any living space a distinguished character and sense of luxury. The hardness, the exquisite grain and the amazing durability of this wood mean that not only is it an attractive and stylish choice of flooring, it's also the most practical choice for people with busy lives and homes. All brown T n' G is made solely from the heartwood of Zambezi Teak, one of the World's hardest woods. As such it is completely resistant to biological attack.
Brown & White: Whilst the previous All Brown floor has a fairly uniform colour, the Brown and White floor has a greater colour variation preferred by many. Zambezi Floor plough a proportion of all sales straight back into the communities living next to the African forests from which the wood is harvested. This helps to ensure the preservation of these forests.
Zambezi Teak Decking This decking is not only very beautiful, but is also extremely hard and will withstand the effects of weather much better than any other solid wood decking.
